Research collaborations and consultancy
The University is engaged in a wide range of research and development and consultancy programmes, providing expertise to enable external organisations to develop innovative products and services. Packages can be tailored to suit a company’s specifications, covering many disciplines. The University also hosts seven Enterprise Units with dedicated, professional teams to deliver research and consultancy.
Specialist facilities
The University has many modern specialist facilities. These include world-class wind tunnels that have been used extensively by gold medal-winning Olympic athletes, Formula 1 teams and high-profile yacht designers through to our new £55 million Mountbatten Building, housing one of Europe’s leading multidisciplinary clean room complexes.

A flexible scheme through, which a highly-qualified University graduate works with an external organisation on a strategic project for up to three years.
Support for high-tech, start-up companies
If you are developing an innovative product or service – then the University can help you build your business. The SETsquared Business Incubation Centre provides hands-on business support, access to finance, experts and other entrepreneurs to help businesses grow.
